Italy Accountant 

Infineum is a world-class lubricant and fuel additives company. This position offers the opportunity to join the Infineum Italia organization as Accountant.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Italy Finance Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to participate to the internal and external reporting of the Italian affiliate, and as such is required to be involved in the financial aspects of a variety of compliance, reporting, as well as revenue and cost issues. 

Temporary position 1 year

Internal Responsibilities

  • Active participation to the monthly close process, ensuring all month-end tasks are performed accurately and on-time, including posting of monthly accruals and Customs duties and liaising with the business to ensure accuracy of accruals.
  • Support to Manufacturing & local functions for capitalization, disposals, and physical verification of Fixed & Intangible assets.
  • Preparation of monthly manual debit and credit notes for 3rd party customers and vendors (non-trade billings).
  • Raising Intercompany Billing Requests between Infineum affiliates for Fixed & Intangible Assets.
  • Preparation of related balance sheet reconciliations and controls.
  • Local and Group banking operations.
  • Assisting external provider (Payables & Procurement) and vendors in contracts, payment or posting issues.
  • Support Travel & Expense tool & Corporate card as local focal point.
  • Other ad hoc requests and support as required

External Reporting

  • Support to Manufacturing & functions for the disposal of assets, including formalities with tax authorities.
  • Participation to the preparation of the statutory financial statements, supplementary disclosures and tax calculations in the Fixed Assets and Expense claims areas.
  • Support to Manufacturing & functions for the tax incentives related to Assets, including formalities with service providers & tax authorities.
  • Responsibility for liaising with external auditors for Fixed & intangible assets in the Annual Statutory Accounts.
  • Monthly reporting to the Office of National Statistics (ISTAT).
  • E-invoices preparation and submission to the tax agency website (SDI) for manual billings.
  • Other ad hoc requests and support as required.

 

A successful candidate is likely to have:

  • A University degree in Economics or equivalent, with preference for accountant backgrounds
  • A high level of financial awareness, with sustained exposure to an operational finance department
  • Able to network effectively, and form working relationships with and influence non-Finance colleagues
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills will be required to approach problems and situations effectively
  • Good organisational and prioritising skills with the ability to deliver against deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Be a self-motivated person, willing to get involved and collaborate in various teams
  • Systems experience should include:
    • SAP
    • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Finally, the candidate should be fluent in English, writing and speaking.
