Role Title: Technical Business Development Manager
Function and Department: New Business Development – NBD / Electronic materials

Position Summary:
A TBDM fulfils the key hybrid commercial-technical role at Infineum’s customer interface and serves as a bridge between the Commercial and Deep Expertise R&D function.The role contains both technical and commercial dimensions, requiring the ideal candidate to have versatility in both external and internal customer interfaces, pivotal in defining product-based value propositions.This involves understanding industry-specific applications testing, as well as current technology pain points as well as future industry technology trends, with focus on Electronic Materials.The selected person is likely to have a balanced background of chemistry and process/application understanding at the customer level to deliver against customer needs through the application of Infineum’s technology.The role requires significant collaboration with customers and prospects, with commercial colleagues (Business Growth Managers) and with Deep Technology Expertise Technologists.This jobs offers the opportunity to apply application expertise to commercial challenges, deliver innovative solutions for our customers, and grow professionally within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
Key Resposibilities:
- Provide expert outside-in customer perspectives and front-end technical support to existing and potential customers including product recommendations, product-based value propositions, and technical advice.
- Working with Business development and sales and marketing colleagues, develop an understanding of new markets that will support Infineum’s diversification effort.
- Build and maintain customer relationships that have been established by the front end commercial team so as to generate route to first sale.
- Advise Deep Expertise Technologists on applications testing to improve credibility in Infineum’s test programs in front of customers.
- Work with Deep Expertise to develop or extrapolate Infineum’s current chemistry platforms into saleable components/formulations.
- Assist / Advice during due diligence for inorganic projects.

A successful candidate is likely to have:
- Established technical competency with a strong science background (e.g. chemistry or engineering) and capability to bridge between fundamental science and impact to application specific criteria (e.g.: what chemistry or component we should change to deliver specific conductivity or rheology properties)
- Worked in a technical capacity in Electronics Applications, especially if focused on conductive / resistive pastes and slurries, nanomaterials, particles engineering, polymer science.
- Experience in customer technical development and working within Joint Development programs.
- Strong industry contacts and ability to leverage external technical expertise in the value chain.
- Strong program management skills across internal and external resources
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in chemistry and/or formulation development for electronic materials.
- Hands-on applications experience with understanding customer qualification criteria, and successful in new-product launch.
- Strong knowledge of nanomaterial dispersion, colloidal chemistry, and organic/inorganic interactions.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and enthusiasm to collaborate with customers.
- Analyse and interpret complex data, derive sound technical judgements and drive project decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and develop external personal relationships.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills in English
- Able to effectively conduct multiple projects and other technical activities simultaneously.
- Strong commitment to Infineum safety and quality values.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with electronic materials technologies and trends, ideally developed from direct work experience in specialty chemicals (pastes, inks, greases slurries etc.) for the fabrication of passive components and other electronic materials (semiconductors, microcircuits, PCB).
- Flexibility and ability to work across different technical and market domains.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques (such as viscosity, particle size and distribution, zeta potential).
