Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Scientist – Dispersant Formulations to lead the development and commercialization of new materials and formulations in the fields of electronic materials and batteries.
This role sits at the interface of innovation, application, and commercialization, translating customer and market needs into robust, scalable solutions. You will lead projects from molecular design through formulation, scale-up, and customer qualification, working closely with global and regional teams.
This is a high-impact role in a rapidly growing region, offering strong visibility, technical ownership, and opportunity to shape future product platforms.
Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do:
Develop & Commercialize Advanced Materials
- Lead the discovery and development of polymeric and small molecule surfactants and dispersants, often in formulated systems for targeted application areas
- Translate and anticipate performance requirements into manufacturable, high-quality solutions balancing performance, cost, and scalability
- Deliver projects from concept through pilot and commercial implementation
Work Directly with Customers
- Engage with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and material ecosystem partners to define requirements and support product validation
- Provide technical expertise in application development, product selection, and on-site trials where needed
- Accelerate customer qualification and drive adoption in competitive markets
Drive Scale-Up & Industrialization
- Lead scale-up, technology transfer, and manufacturing readiness activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners to enable reliable production
- Ensure solutions are robust for real-world operating environments
Lead Technical Execution
- Design and guide experimental programs using structured, data-driven approaches
- Coach and support laboratory technologists to deliver high-quality experimental outputs
- Maintain rigorous documentation and protect intellectual property
Contribute to Strategy & Growth
- Identify industry trends and emerging application requirements across AP markets
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and future product pipelines
- Work across internal teams to align innovation with commercial priorities

Required Qualifications
Essential
- PhD in Chemistry or closely related field
- Strong foundation in dispersant design and formulation science (e.g. dispersions, rheology, structure–property relationships, nanomaterial characterization)
- Proven experience developing materials or products within at least one of the following:
- Batteries / energy storage (cell-level preferred)
- Electronic materials (for example conductive inks, pastes and slurries based on carbon, copper, precious metals)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver from lab-scale innovation through scale-up and commercialization
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capability
- Experience working in cross-functional, multi-site teams
Preferred
- Experience supporting customer qualification and application development, particularly with AP-based customers
- Experience working with external manufacturing partners or tollers
- Familiarity with quality systems, regulatory, or stewardship frameworks
- Track record of patents, publications, or technical innovation
Language & Ways of Working
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
- Strong communication skills across cultural and technical boundaries
