Corporate Communications Specialist (China)
Position Summary:
As a Corporate Communications Specialist, you will be a crucial member of our Corporate Communications Team. You will ensure high-quality communication that is tailored to our business and audiences in China and aligned with our global business needs. You will collaborate closely with the global communications team as well as the local China business team, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your negotiation and influencing skills will be essential in steering effective communications. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, has strong willingness to learn and grow, work hands on collaboratively and autonomously, and has a strong understanding of marketing communications and media relations in China.
Key Outputs: What we can expect from you:
- Support the Development of Effective Communication Strategies: Support the crafting and execution of corporate communication strategies that enhance our brand image in China and align with our vision and strategy, including social media strategy for China.
- Draft Content for External Communications: Create content and press releases for external channels, such as our company website, WeChat account as well as key industry media platforms.
- Measure Content Performance: Analyse the effectiveness of digital content and generate valuable reports to inform corporate communications processes.
- Manage Internal Communications for Local Sites: Prepare newsletters and other internal communication materials specific to local sites.
- Organise Initiatives and Events: Plan and execute local internal and external events through close collaboration with local business and operation teams.
- Build Relationships: Build and foster connections with advocates, key individuals and opinion leaders.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Technical Professionals: Work alongside sales, marketing and technology teams to produce and localise compelling copy.
- Vendor Management: Identify and manage external agencies to ensure delivery of effective results within agreed quality, timelines and budgets.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- Required experience: Experienced communications professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
A successful candidate is likely to have the following skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills both in English and Chinese to communicate effectively and build excellent relationships both internally and externally.
- Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate rigour.
- Proven track record of delivering on-time with accuracy.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Strong copywriting, editing and translation skills.
- Experience in managing social media and managing media relations in China.
- Strong understanding of local cultural awareness, government relations and protocols.
- Solid understanding of project management principles.
- Experience in localising content for diverse markets is a plus.
- Familiarity with web design and content production is a plus.
- A formal qualification in communications is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with design software such as Canva is preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within China.
