Function and Department: Supply & Operational Excellence, Singapore Manufacturing Technical Plant

Location: Singapore Plant

 

Position Summary:         

This position reports to the Singapore Plant Technical Manager. The ideal candidate will assist production and plant technical team in the development and programming of control sequences for all system-controlled processes, including DCS, PLC-based systems, SIS, and instrumentations. Candidate will need to support Cyber Security activities of the Process Control System and interfaces to IT and SAP system. The role combines engineering, manufacturing, Cyber security, and computer programming skills to support and improve the process control system for secure and reliable plant operations. S/he is also team member of unit reliability and integrated project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities / What You'll Achieve

 

  • Support and improve control strategies, sequence code, recipe modifications, operator interfaces, and other applications for the production in the Singapore plant
  • Provide assistance to troubleshooting and identify root cause and implementing solutions to manufacturing process problems
  • Develop programming and support execution of capital projects such as new equipment or a new plant unit
  • Train Process Technicians, Console Operators, Engineers and Supervisors on the use of the process control computer and related computer applications
  • Provide off-hour support, weekend standby duty, and backfill coverage as needed
  • Lead troubleshooting for process control system by collaborating with the IT department, DCS service provider and any 3rd party vendors to identify root cause solutions to system issues
  • Support Cyber Security implementation and activities
  • Support interfaces between PCS and IT/SAP system
  • Participate in regular Global PCC CoP Meeting
  • Any other roles and responsibilities assigned

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Education: Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in control engineering or maintenance services, with a focus on DCS, PLC systems, Windows operating systems, and cybersecurity.
  • Technical Requirements: Experience configuring PCS sequences, logic, recipes, alarms, and reports.
  • Good working knowledge of server and PC hardware and software, including Microsoft Windows operating systems and administration.
  • Strong attention to detail, with clear and concise communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation, batch and continuous plant operations, process control, and computer programming.
  • Working knowledge of DeltaV systems, Siemens PLCs, and Schneider PLC systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Interest in and commitment to developing a career in the Process Control Systems (PCS) field.
