Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be member of Process Control team with the responsibility to assist production and plant technical teams in the development and programming of control sequences for all system-controlled processes, including DCS, PLC-based systems and Operational Technologies (OT). The role combines engineering, manufacturing and computer programming skills to support and improve the process control system for secure and reliable plant operations. S/he is also team member of unit reliability and integrated project teams.
This position reports to the Process Control Team leader.
Key Responsibilities / What You'll Achieve
- Define and implement control strategies, sequence code, recipe modifications, operator interfaces and other digital applications for the operation of batch and utilities units in the Vado Ligure plant
- Assist in plant troubleshooting, identifying root cause solutions to process problems
- Develop programming and support execution of capital projects such as new equipment or a new plant unit
- Train Process Technicians, Console Operators, Engineers and Supervisors on the use of the process control computer and related computer applications
- Provide off-hour support, weekend standby duty, and backfill coverage as needed
- Lead troubleshooting for process control system by collaborating with the IT department, DCS service provider and any 3rd party vendors to identify root cause solutions to system issues

Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Chemical or Automation Engineer
- Understanding of instrumentation, batch and continuous plant operations, process control and computer programming
- Understanding of plant and production risks, assessing impacts of automated solutions
- Knowledge of Foxboro Process Control System (a plus)
- Knowledge of PLC programming and communication protocol (a plus)
- Base knowledge of IT system: server, virtual machine (i.e. VMware ESXi / Hyper-V), antivirus system
- Base knowledge of industrial cybersecurity
- Troubleshooting and analytical abilities
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
