Position summary :
Based at our Berre-l'Étang manufacturing site and reporting to the Technical Manager, the Process & Industrial Development Engineer contributes to the site's technical development and long-term operational performance.
You will identify, develop, and drive improvement opportunities that sustainably enhance safety, reliability, production capacity, energy efficiency, and overall site competitiveness. You will also conduct technical and economic studies in collaboration with various site stakeholders and contribute to shaping future investment strategies.
This role is intended for an individual who wishes to further deepen their expertise in industrial processes while contributing to high-impact projects supporting the site's long-term development.
Key Responsibilities / What You'll Achieve :
As a Process & Industrial Development Engineer, your responsibilities will focus on the following areas :
Capital Investment Project Development
- Identify, assess, and develop investment opportunities and projects that sustainably improve safety, reliability, production capacity, energy efficiency, and competitiveness of the site's facilities.
- Carry out the conceptual engineering studies for these projects, prepare technical and economic business cases, and present them to industrial site leadership.
- Contribute to the development of the site's long-term capital investment plan and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
Technical Studies Support
- Conduct or coordinate techno-economic studies required to support decision-making related to the site's technical, regulatory, operational, and strategic challenges.
- Act as a key interface between the Technical Department and various stakeholders, including Production, Maintenance, HSE, Technology, and Industrial Strategy teams.
Technical Expertise and Mentoring
- Serve as a technical reference within the team on complex process engineering and chemical engineering topics.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and the technical development of colleagues and peers.

Skills & Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or a comparable industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of the overall operation of an industrial manufacturing site.
- Experience as a Process Engineer working closely with operating units is an advantage.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, align stakeholders, and drive commitment to decisions.
- Experience in evaluating, developing, and leading improvement and capital investment projects.
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Strong interest in technical development and knowledge sharing.
- Fluent French and a high level of English, enabling effective work within an international environment.
