Role Title:  Process Design & Development Engineer

Role Function and Group:  Global Engineering

Location:  Bayway

 

Position Summary:     
This job is a full-time position responsible for the design and development of capital projects in Infineum’s Global Engineering group. This role requires applying process design knowledge and experience to ensure the facilities meet Infineum standards and practices. This role will also deliver projects efficiently while achieving stated goals (i.e. safety, improvement, ROI, reliability). The position requires interfacing and collaborating with site management, operations and maintenance, other global engineering specialists as well as third party inputs on design, costs, and schedule. The candidate shall be able to work in self-directed as well as collaborative environments, while maintaining a high level of accountability to the project development outcome.

 

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

  • Develop design specifications for varying stages of projects used to communicate the design basis and blueprint for project execution.
  • Perform calculations such as hydraulics, heat and mass balances, heat transfer, instrumentation/equipment sizing, safety relief system sizing, etc.
  • Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment/instrument datasheets
  • Assist in managing project planning and front end engineering stages of project development
  • Support project execution/detailed engineering stage of project development
  • Use process design knowledge to: perform proof of concept check; perform cold eyes reviews of design; apply concept from technical group to plant operations; interface with engineering specialists / project engineers / cost estimators   
  • Participate in global networks involved with improving the development process and sharing process design experience

 

A successful candidate is likely to have: 

  • Education: Bachelor degree in chemical engineering 
  • Experience: 5-7 years process engineering experience required
  • Experience utilizing industry design, engineering and process safety standards (i.e., ASME, API)
  • Knowledge of project development and execution process; specifically stage/gate process a plus
  • Attention to detail; clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and proactive worker; strong team player in collaborative and leadership roles
  • Ability to interact with organizational levels both horizontally and vertically.
  • Ability to manage contract resources and a variety of projects simultaneously
  • PE, PMP, MBA a plus
