Position Summary:

This position is for a technically minded individual to join our lab operations group, where you will provide technical, logistical and laboratory support to our product development and customer technical support groups.

In this role, you are the link between project leaders and our onsite operational teams and external service providers. You will be required to liaise with project leaders, understand their project needs, develop an operations plan and execute that plan. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different segments of our lubricants business and work with project leaders around the globe.

You will be responsible for scheduling small and large scale blending operations, managing the inventory of blend components, scheduling analytical, bench and engine tests at internal and external labs, and fulfilling customer requests. You will be responsible for upholding the quality and safety standards of Technology Operations. As you develop, you will be expected to be able to interpret test results, spot errors/trends and propose next steps for the work. You will also play a key role in defining best practice in our laboratories.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Proactively contribute to the high safety standard of the group, ensure samples are managed in line with Infineum's established safety management system
  • Co-ordinate and ensure completion of discrete work elements. This includes: arranging package and oil blends, scheduling analytical and performance tests, and providing guidance to project leaders on the most efficient way to achieve their requirements.
  • Liaise with internal groups and external service providers to ensure analytical, bench and engine testing are delivered to a high-quality standard and against established timelines.
  • Contribute to lab improvement activities.
  • Contribute to operations improvement activities onsite, including lab management and process development
  • Provide flexible support to business-critical activities as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality values
  • Established technical competency with a science background
  • Knowledge of chemistry would be an advantage
  • Lab experience is preferred
  • Good time management skills and the ability to drive work forward to meet targets and timelines.
  • Capability to manage a complex work load, delivering across multiple projects at any one time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, and capability to scrutinise, evaluate and relay complex technical information
  • Competent user of data analysis packages and word processing software
